Just change mics, put an amplified mic on it, and it really goes to town.....

POWER 18-20 watts....

I wonder if one can add a lower chnls to it

Anyone know where to find the mod to have this radio xmit on 151 megs, I found it on the web and forgot to save it.

Ok I replaced it and have it working it works on am now on usb it sounds ruff, on lsb its not there, just a ruff sounding weak carrier.

I have a cobra 142 gtl base, it powers up and receives, lights are dim and it doesnt transmit am or ssb, any suggestions, I do have a few spare parts

Two general questions on MAGNUM 257
1. What setting does the owners use on the mic gain..example 12 oclock, or??
for am and ssb???

2. What mic are you using..stock or what????
