thanks for your input .i have already changed the 10.240 crystal,same results .nothing changed .i did redo some areas of solder that could be reached.rick has responded over at his forum with the solution.its a little out my experience so i,m going to live with it until our other radio comes back ho...

changing the crystal did nothing .went out an hour later and ch19 reads 27.187.so nothing has helped so far .

changed out the 10.240 crystal this morning .resoldered the rest of the crystals .gonna put it back in the cold truck and see what happens.i only have trouble when the radios cold .all galaxies drift a little but this was excessive.updates later.

cold weather can cause a little drift ,but i have never seen it this bad .usually 1kc at most.even my general lee is on freq when cold .the 6th digit may be a few off is all.thanks for your response.

hi guys ,i am wondering myself what exactly techs are doing to these stykers to get them so loud .whats the basic tune up for a stryker? i just bought a stryker 440hp after doing the conversion i simply turned up the modulation vr (vr14)and this radio started swinging 55-60 watts from a 2 watt carri...

the bridge would be right where the wire was originally attached,when you remove the wire you remove the bridge too.then you move it to pin 9 on the band selector.pin 9 will be empty from factory.

these are not my directions,it is info pulled from the web.if your converting a ss36 then your doing it wrong ...putting the wire to pin 9 is the conversion for the 33 not the 36.your all over the place.which actual radio are you working on? check your radio then check the conversion.they are differ...

you originally asked for mods for a 33...the 36 conversion info is at the same link just scroll down until you see it .its the one that says remove the resistors from the board .there is a picture there just scroll down.doing that mod opens up all the channels watch for the typo there it should read...

now that link is only good for the superstar 33 or ganger rg 33 ..not the connex 33 .

ok thanks nomadradio .i will wait any further mods until i hear back from you .the conversion info was on cb tricks tucked away.someone directed me to it . the conversion info was left by this man "Russell Clift AB7IF".maybe he knows more about these radios? ranger was of no help by the way.
