TS430 MOD

On the the bottom board of the transceicer find the RF-UNIT (X44-1510-11).

Near the two plugs numbered 9 and 10 , you will see two diodes called D39 and D40.

Simply cut the two diodes D39 and D40 on the RF-UNIT.

LM 723 Regulator

Thanks for the rapid reply, Another source has said it's a LM 324 which is of course an OP AMP.
Thanks again

Watson W30AM Power Supply

I have a Power Supply with a problem, it keeps cooking a capacitor on the regulator board, and after replacing I can see the voltage drop.
Two questions, what is the IC on the board - LM723 ?? and why is the voltage dropping.

Not a CB question but I'm sure there is place for it on here.

MOS RM3 transistor

I have a friends amp which is KAPUT, the 4 output devices have had the numbers/letters removed by the manufacturers. I have discovered they are MOS RM3 by looking at RM's site, but I cannot locate a supplier, at least not in the UK. Is there an alternative and is it worth the trouble. The amp is des...

Sorted THE PROBLEM

Even though the transistor was showing correct voltages it failed under load. We are talking the 2sc1419, so I borrowed one from the rigs mains power supply and hooked the rig up to the DC Power supply, EUREKA! Now I'm hoping the equivalent is TIP31A because the originals are not available as far as...

Voltages

Thanks for the rapid reply, The collector wasn't isolated when this started, so I rectified that, it made no difference. I don't have any info on the rigs voltages in general so I can't make any decisions when it comes to checking the other ones. I believe the Transistor 2sc1419 can be replaced by ...

PRESIDENT MADISON HOME BASE, SSB OK, NO FM-AM TX

The transistor in question would be the 2sc1419?
The tx voltages are Base:-7.33...Collector:-11.8..Emmiter:-6.3The rx voltages are Base:-7.63...Collector:-13.00 Emmiter:-12.4

Question--Should the collector be bolted directly to the heat sink or isolated?

PRESIDENT MADISON HOME BASE, SSB OK, NO FM-AM TX

Initialy the TX on FM was ok (for a count of 10) then it would die, but SSB still worked. I thought the output DRV & Final were dodgy so I changed them, the same happened for a while, until after constant checking, into a dummy load , it wouldn't key up at all, still OK on SSB though. A friend h...
