If this sounds stupid just disregard...but I know this.... some mostly older radios are relay switched, this could be one of these radios. They take a different mic wiring to work correctly that could be why your TX/RX are on at the same time wrong mic wiring. What kind of Mike are you trying to use...

Perfect! Replaced the diode on the left! Works 100%! I'm so thankfull! YOU ROCK! Time to piss off the neighbors again!

I see 2 diodes.. pictured here... which one is it? From what you said i figure its probably the one on the left, but please check me to be sure...
