Radio Make and Model: cobra 142 gtl
PCB Number: pc-385AE
PLL Number: MB8719
Test gear available: dmm, analog multimeter, dummy load, oscilloscope, soldering iron, RF frequency counter.

Symptoms: hi all this is my first post here nice site thank you. the rig wont change frequency, channel display is OK but radio is stuck on channel 1 26.965.

What is working: transmits OK on all modes

What has been tried: my knowledge is limited but i checked for dried out caps and bad solder joints.

Did it suddenly happen ?: the radio has been idle for years at least 10 years
Anything else that may be of help?: as i say I'm limited by my knowledge of electronics. thanks for any help

This chassis has a major issue with leaky (showing DC resistance) low voltage electrolytics.
Replace ALL 10V caps under 100uF, and make sure you get them all!
Especially the light grey ones.

This will solve 95% of the issues with this chassis.
