help with a galaxy hml 33

i got this from a co worker he said when he talks on it its sounds like your talking thru a house fan audio is choppy on both rx and tx low med high power

i have talked on this rig and i does sound like your talking thru a fan receive audio is the same

any one know a fix

Do you have a copy of the schematic diagram. If so I may be able to help, I have all the Galaxy schematic diagram but not this one.

It sounds like it is a fault on the EB-2000 echo board if so, just try this one disconnects J2 and J3 and connect them back to back (E.G. mic I/P to mic O/P and PTT I/P to PTT O/P) and give it a try, if it ok then the echo bridge IC is duff. If ok try TR40 could be O/S. Question is it the same on FM and AM?.

rick i have broken my foot so repairing this 33 will be put off for a bit till this is over thanks ill be on the forums but not doing much of anything else for a while.
