help channeling a royce 642

by channeling i mean add channels below 1 and/or above 40. not really interested in below 1 but more interested in above 40 for ssb use. thanks for the reply

i bought a royce 642 with mods done on it will contact him to see if he has mods done or by someone will get back to you mike

no reply from the fellow i bought radio off of .so here goes i took mine apart to try and help you to set up yours im not radio illerate so i8ll do my best any questions please email me.looking at front of radio right side up.remove covers and on mine there are 2 small switches that were put on back of chassis switch 1 on left has 2 wires on it purple and blue switch 2 has black and green (could be any colorto suit your needs)they run under neath board .so turn over the radio with front still facing you theres a small cover take this off.looking in at circuit board fron there look at the bottom right hand cornerthere are 3 lines of solder conectors bottom row has 4 next row up has 4 they kind of bear off to the right next line up has 3.okay now the hard part maybe. on the second line up. coming from the right go to second pin in. mine has blue wire soldered there.follow the circuit up to the pin and solder purple wire there.that one done next go to third line up and from right go to first pin and solder black wire there .follow circuit up to pin and solder green wire there.i wish i had a camera to send pics but sorry.this gives me with 2 switches down regular cb.with sw 1 up sw 2 down gives me 13 channels from 27.445-27.565 but the other switch with sw 1 down sw 2 up gives me 16 channels from 27.425-27.595 which is almost the same as the other one but other one has 2 different channels 27.465 and 27.515.on my channel selector the extra channels start at channel 12 and go to forty with the 2 switches but freq counter will sort out for you if you ever find out how to hook freq counter so will display freq all the time without keying mike would app it anyway hope this helps if any questions email will keep an eye out and check back every day to see if any questions okay from atlantic canada hope to hear from you soon mike (hillbilly)see ya

does it do anything with both switches up i noticed you didnt post and freqs. in this position. i would like to get to 27.605 and 27.635 but if not that is ok did you notice any resistors or cap. changed or removed that is another think i am worried about before i start to do this mod if it is just the wires and switches it shouldnt be a problem to do. thanks alot. greatly appreciated!!!!!!

just now talked to my radio dude and he said that was the only channels i could get with this radio and there is not other caps or resistors in the wires from switches.so i guess were out of luck unless someone else knows more than we do keep in touch tks mike

From my experience (which is not extensive) I have saw hardly no Royce radios that you could get extra channels in.
