midland plus 98 and uniden

I have a Midland plus 98 with no audio. Firstly thought it was the volume/on/off control because getting audio was achieved by finding a certain spot on the control. The squelch has two functions squelch/ESP, this seeed a little loose so it threw me completly.

With everything together it all works even tx, tried it out with others, and the rx seemed to be right n the bottom of the box. Basically you could hear it but it wasnt very loud. Same problem with the uniden (basic FM 40 channel squelch volume channel changer) wonder if anyone can help.

check the squelch clamps on both radios

Check the volume control this is a known problem.
