hey bud,you need to change the shunt capacitors in the audio chip area. its always a good idea to change these, when you have to change the audio chip.especially in your case as the adio chip was installed backwards.change c-150,c-151,c-146 and see if this will get you up an going...also check c-190,often this cap.goes bye bye when a radio is hooked up backwards.which is basically what happened, installing the audio chip backwards........and as far as the talkback,in your galaxy saturn.this is a real easy mod.clip d-80.if you want to make your talkback switchable.install a spst toggle switch in series with this diode, one wire to diode, and other wire to the wire next to board where you clipped it.also you will need to install a 470k resistor from the junction of c154/r207 to the junction of c187/r235 on the solder side of the pc board.to see the location to install it...go to www.dxzone.com/cgi-bin/dir/jump2.cgi?10=2482 ramblingman

Re: Galaxy 44 missing components.

Post by Rick »

The reason the components are missing is that your Galaxy 44 is AM/FM mode only. The missing components are only fitted to radios, which have SSB.
