radio shack trc-442 sport peak and tune pots

does anybody know what pots to adjust for am power and modulation on a trc-442 sport cb made by radio shack every book i have or try to find info on the web just bypasses this model like it never existed

hey tim,,,what up bud,,,,the amc defeat for the trc-442 is c-60..as far as the amc variable adjust,if you just want to turn it up.it probably will be the variable pot right beside the audio transformer.and probably as far as raising the dead key..on one of them new models,you want have any tuning slugs,,they will just be one or two spring coils to the rear of radio,close to the final.you can adjust your key by streching and compressing these springs.what ever the case may be..youll just have to play with it.to get it peaked..take care bud.........ramblingman

ok thanks i,m still having problems out of the dx-66 going wild it seems like it stops if i change bands could there be a problem with the crystal that controls the cb band regular 40 maybe a new crystall would help?

hey tim,,,it sounds like it might be something just as simple as the mode switch needing cleaning...i have seen a corroded mode switch do that..not making good connection at some bands...get you some contact cleaner..ans spray your mode selector switch,then flip in back and forth a few times.and se if that helps...

ok thanks i,ll try that it seems odd but if i turn the heater on hot and the radio sitting in front of the heater,for a few minutes then turn the radio off and back on that seems to help too
