cobra 29 st driver

Post by kombat03 »

I am looking at tinkering with the stock driver...Is it located at TR23 for the 29? The reason I am asking is because at TR23, It is called d880. I would like to replace it with the 2sc1957 because I heard it runs better. Thanks for any help with this.

TR23 is the main voltage regulator and can be 2SC1096 or 2SD880. The Driver is TR15 which is a 2SC2028 and TR14 is the Final which is a 2SC2029 or 2SC1969

The 2SC2028 and the 2SC1957 are pretty much interchangeable. Don't think you'll see much difference in performance.

Those two numbers were originally made by two separate, competing brands, each intended for the same market. Specs for the 1957 show a little higher power gain than the 2028, but probably not enough to matter.

And if you just can't resist tinkering for its own sake, please pass along what you find.
