My friend has a galaxy 88 ( that he got from me ) that works and looks like new, maybe a year old at the most. The trouble is that not long after he got it from me the freq display went nuts. He said that all at once the counter started to move up and or down at a fast pace. So he just gave it a tap and it ended up going way off freq. The radio displays 27.325 ( 32 ) even though he is receiving and transmitting on 27.165 ( ch 17 ) but other then that it sounds and works fine, no power loss or anything. It has been checked for cold solder joints but nothing was found.
Any one have an idea of something else it could be? Thanks!

If this is the new type counter (EPT210014C) then change IC4 (LC7232). Common fault.
