Well I just about pulled my hair out tonight.. I had a Cobra 25 night watch sitting about the shack along with a bunch of blue displays that just came in this week. So i was like let me toss a blue display roger beep and echo into the 25, I started with the display first.. I pull the radio down and solder the display in place and power the radio up.. and nothing.. i was like man did I put it in upside down.. so I pull it back out and flip it over and power the radio back up.. all i get is 1 segment on each digit that would light.. So I was like man i got the display too hot.. So I pulled it back out and tested it.. all the segments are working.. so I grabbed the old display that came out the radio and tested it.. first thing I noticed is that the cobra 25 radios have a common cathode not a common anode,,, At this point I am thinking no problem.. just search the net for a blue display with common cathode.. Man it like looking for a pot of gold at the end of a rainbow to find a blue display with common cathode.
I pulled out a uniden 68 and checked the display in it, its also common cathode.
Has any one ever seen a cobra 25 or uniden 68 with blue display, or does any one know where to get a dual 7 segment 16 pin common cathode display at?

Re: Cobra 25 Blue Display.
The number of the common cathode 7 Segment display is 4023BA. Try the links below,

I get my ones from www.jtronix.com but they may not sale to the public.
Use a 2K2 dropper resistor or the the display will only last a short while.
