what is the best mod so that I can get some heavy swing out of this connex 3300 and keep good loud audio

The first step is to locate R240 and unsolder
and remove it. Save R240 as will be re-used.

There's not enough room to solder in a diode( 1N4001 diode)
and the resistor back in the empty holes
where R240 was, so get 2 pieces of thin wire
about 6 inches long and solder the wire into
the empty holes. The get R240 and solder it
to the banded end of the diode.

Wrap tape around the
diode and resistor so they don't short out.
