Hello and Thanks to Rick..

Post by Ham_International »

Hi there.
This is Jose from Spain.

Just signed up for saying hello to everybody, and specially for giving thanks to Rick. After more than a year researching, I've found rick's technical info a couple of days ago regarding a problem I was experiencing in my Ham International Concorde II (PTBM121D4X board) when SSB TX. (here is the link: http://www.cbtricks.com/members/rick_eu ... _Part2.pdf )

I did the mod Rick suggested and it worked really fine. Now audio is really clear at SSB TX operation.

I will start soon a new topic regarding an AM RX distorted audio problem, but that is another history.

I am operating cb radios since 1984, owned a Ham International Viking, a rare Stag 357 (which I modded for getting 40 extra channels, LC7120 model), and currently own a Fisher F140 (broken), a Major M788 (PTBMX133A4X, as Ham Multimode 3, broken too), Formac 240, Super Star 3900 first serie, and my beloved Concorde II, among HF/VHF equipment.

When CB propagation is wide open, I reach UK stations on FM mode with 9+30 signals, as I am on the atlantic coast.

Best regards...
Jose.

Hi again.
Thanks for answering. Sure your work is useful to many people as there aren't enough tech info regarding that models.

My Multi3 problems started 22 years ago with the Roger beep U9 film fault (there was no TX delay but beep oscillator did work, so the beep came out thru the speaker breaking my ears. I finally fixed it just adding an electrolityc condenser forcing the TX delay).

Main problem started when channels were "duplicated", I mean, channel 1 and 2 were channel 2 only. Channel 3 and 4 were #4, etc. I took it to a tech , fixed it but started to fail again soon. So I left it stored, and recently used it for spares on my Concorde (I've tried to replace some components for trying to fix the SSB TX problem as AN612, Xtal Filter, and so).

Now it is stored naked for over 15 years, If I don't decide to fix it, It could be a good spares resource, so let me know if you are interested on something.

Thanks!..

Jose.
