Side Mic 25 LTD issues

Post by HardTime »

Hello folks, I am new to the site and am only a CB hobbyist. I have a older style cobra 25 LTD with the side mic jack.

It powers up, but there is only a very faint sound of static coming out of the speaker. When you key the mic the channel display goes out and there is no output on the S-meter or on the external meter. Have tried 3 microphones, checked the wires on the board on the mic jack and on the solder side of the board. Have also checked the voltage on the audio chip, I have 14.28 volts on the first leg and 13.75 on the last leg. I also have 14.28 volts on one leg of the final (2075).

I am stumped on this so any help would be greatly appreciated.

Check the cb/pa switch, also check for audio when in pa mode on pa jack, check that out and let us know!
