Variable Power On Prez Grant

hey fellas..i have a president grant that i want to run into a 2x2290 box...but this radio has no variable power.

anybody have the locations where i am to add some parts??

thanks in advance guys, i can't wait to get into the SSB way of life.

i would settle for the low and high power adjustments...i can remove the low power pot and wire it into a separate external pot..

the only adjustments that i find, are for the grant with the band switch, mine doesn't have that.

I run a SS158 EDX with my Texas Star DX250,just turned down the carrier to 4 watts and cut back the ALC and it works great, I run it on all the time when in the car never turn it off.People don't know the difference,they always think its the new radio lol.

i know that vr8 is the am power, and it is a 10K pot....can i just remove this pot and route it to a 10k pot on the front of the radio.

I don't see why not ,after all the little VR is just a pot.Try to keep the wiring away from the PLL etc, should work fine,if not its easy to put it back to the way it was.
