Hello,The Pills In This Box Was Over-Driven And The Pills Was Fried I Am Thinking Of Running Six 2sc2879 Pills Instead Of Replaceing The Two1446 Driveing Four 2sc2290 Pills.I Am Not Sure Of How This Will Work With My Connex 4300 That Has One 2290 Pill It Dead Keys 1.5 Watts And Swings About 75 Watts And What Would The Output Be.Thanks For Any Ideas.I Would Hate To Do This And Find Out Its More Box Then My Radio Can Push Thanks In Advance For Any Suggestions

What you're likely to find out is your radio has more power that either of the amplifier scenarios you've described can possibly handle.

You should either get a straight 4/2879 amplifier for that radio or get radio that only produces at maximum 30 watts pep to run that amplifier.

Thanks For The Reply Mack. I Would Like To Use This Box And Just Replace The Two 1446 And Four 2290 Pills With Six 2879 But Can This Be Done Without Doing A Lot Of Replaceing Other Parts Of The Amp ?

i thinks you will need to remove some windings on those big ferrites and also change several capacitors. i have studied on changing my texas star from 2290's to the 2879 and studied the parts lists on cbtricks. might check some of those out on your model or look at the list for the texas star for ideas

I think you are going to have to turn down the output on your Connex to a low 10-15 watts and build the amp w/ (2) 2290's driving (4) 2879's if you really want to use that same case and board in the (sssh) transmitter. JMO.

My advise.........junk your whole rig. get a uniden 68 or 78. get a nice class c splatter box, like a davemade or a fatboy 1x4. one 2sc2290 driving four 2sc2879.
