Super Panther SSB

Does SSB use audio chip as i have no modulation on SSB, audio RX or TX..?

It is the common single board. 02A SSB... TP-DN60-HB is all i could see on it.

The Pearce-Simpson Super Panther was never a popular radio, therefore Sch diagrams are hard to come by, this is most likely why you are not getting a answer.

They are two version of the Super Panther Mk1 and MK2 I think its only the MK2 which has the label MK2.

If the PCB is the PTBM048ACOX or the PTBM058COX then check the mode switch as it switches on the RX/TX switching transistors and this is the only common control line used in SSB.

The transistors are Q40 and Q41.
Q40 (TX SW) emitter should be about 8 to 8.5 volts when in the on SSB mode and the collector should be about 8 to 8.5 volts in TX and zero in RX.
Q41 (RX SW) the collector should be about 8 to 8.5 volts when in the on SSB mode and the emitter should be about 8 to 8.5 volts in RX and zero in TX.

I beleve it is the Mk1...this is a very common radio in Australia....Ok.. Replacing the audio chip got the audio working.. but RX on SSB is very low also on SSB TX.. but all good on AM....??????????????
