magnum s3 stuck on channel 9

here is the problem the radio will go to channel 9.. no tx or rx ..channel selector wont change numers when radio does this...let the radio warm up a little or maybe if your lucky switch on and off reel fast and watch for numbers to change as long as you leave power to the radio when its not in lockdown channel 9 it will work just fine any help will be appreciated

These radios are equipted with the s.w.r. shutdown circuit.
The radio has a switch on the rear panel to switch this on or off.
If the s.w.r. is above 2.5 to 1,this feature will shutdown all tx.
Im am thinking this is probably your trouble.Try turning off
this option and see if tx returns.If it does you must have high
s.w.r. above 2.5,This senses the s.w.r. and shuts down tx.
If you turn it off and it goes back to transmitting.I would try
to fix the s.w.r. problem before i run the radio to much.This
feature is there for a reason,to sense this trouble and shut down the
tx,before you do harm to the finals.I have seen this personnaly
as a friend had a magnum s-3,and installed a 3 foot firestick on
his truck.S.W.R was above 3,and it shut down the radio.Usually
when this happens when you key the mic the red tx light will blink.
