Hey does anyone know if the IRF520 is a direct drop in for the older finals?
(2166) and if not does anyone have the mosfet mods for the Uniden 510?

IMax 2000
Uniden 78XL
Cobra 29 LTD ST
Wilson 5000 magnet mounts
Uniden 510XL with a little Wil
Monitoring 27.005 in the Great Lakes State

Mosfets are not drop in replacements. Some other part(s) will need to be removed and the Mosfets will also need special biasing to operate.

With the Uniden 510 only being an AM radio, it is not worth the effort doing a MOSFET conversion.

Why not Rick, its a cheap but good radio and thats the fun of the hobby :D
