Has anyone ever come accross one of these transcievers before? They were offered as an opion from Ford in the early seventies. If they are around, how much do they go for, and how available are they?
Here is a page from a pamphlet of options for Ford trucks in 1971. Any info about these would be greatly apretiated!

Only Ford radio I've seen is a Ford FM-320 UHF set, back in the mid 1980's.
They were an optional extra on some models of Ford tractors. Apart from the "Philips" logo being replaced by the blue Ford oval logo, they were identical to the Philips radio.

I also had, about the same era, some Chrysler CB sets (23 channel AM only).
I think I've still got one in the shed somewhere...

In all cases they were sets where the maker had replaced his own logo with that of the car maker. It's the way that nearly all modern electronics in made... In China there is a huge factory (workers in the thousands) and this ONE factory produces 45% of the worlds microwave ovens. Your Sanyo/Philips/Tiffany/Panasonic/Sharp/Samsung/NEC and "store brands" all come out of this one factory! Economics is the reasoning - it's a lot cheaper to have one factory making lots of items than lots of smaller factories making one "brand" each.

If you want servicve info on Ford or Chrysler CB sets, the first step is to find out who actually made them. In your picture, item "e" is probably a Midland, and "f" is definatly a Pace (NDI) made set.

but those sort of radios go to local markets or antiques stores you might find one i seen a few at the market down my way

THE only ford cb i can remember was a ford roadmaster type cb rig it was a buy extra back in the 80's with a new car here in the uk whats so special u ask ok it may have been a cybernet3000-clone, but it came with a 1-40 scan mod built in it.

hi there , the spartain is 858 same as the old grants ,adams by president etc 138 cobras theres heaps ,using 5 to 6 toggle switches including 1 3 way up and down for 10kc up and down they work quite well same as a courier gladiator but there heaps bigger but i hated the headphone phono mic plug ,dave nsw australia

Does anyone have any of these transeviers that they would be will to part with? I had a Royce 501 but only half the channels worked so the 148 went in.
