CHEROKEE MOD

Hello, I just acquired a Cherokee CB 500 Base Station and tried to do the channel mods by changing the pins as directed in a web site. The mod does not appear to be working. Can anyone help me with this. The mod seems so simple in the instructions that I found but I am not seeing the channels change. Thanks!!

Have you verified this with a frequency counter?

No I have not as I don't have a freq meter at this time but the #1 channel button that is supposed to be used to change freq just keeps going from 9-19 like the radio was designed to. I can hear channel 19 traffic so i know its still on regular cb mode.

did you hold down the button when powering the radio off to reset the processor?

Yes I have tried that. I think I need to start from the beginning and go step by step. It seems so simple so maybe I am missing something?
