install Echo Board in Cobra 29LTD

Post by gundoctor »

I have an echo board out of an old Galaxy 99. I want to put it in a Cobra 29 LTD Classic. The problem is it needs 8 volts for the power.
Does anyone know where I can connect to 8 volts?

Thanks. I was thinking about tapping the emitter side of TR23, but I'd rather it just have it's own with the 7808. Thanks for the input!

You can safely pick up 8 volts at the emitter of TR28, if you need the transistor to handle more current change it to a 2SD926 with a 1 watt Zener.

That echo board shouldn't pull much more than 15 or 20 mA. Won't overload TR28.
