well i did the erf 2030 mod, and not much difference.

well i did the erf 2030 final mod on my cobra 29, and did a couple other things, and i am only doing maybe 25 watts. what the hell? i thought everyone says you can get 30 watts and i ve talked to some who say they got 40+. i don t know... still pretty much the same, i can change my dead key from 0 to about 15 to 16 watts and will swing to 25 or so. i am starting to get frustrated! the only thing it really dead was bring up my rms to around 15 watts and gave 5 more watts swing. i give up, plus i broke my squelch gain out of the pc board and had to bypass it, still works but not as good. any ideas

If you have one of the older Cobra 29s you'll have better result. But if your radio is newer you may have to change the driver to a 1957 or equal. Turn your audio up V4 and see what you have. Also if you still don't get the result your looking for you may try adding the additional parts listed for the 1969 mod. Ive had different result with different radios and don't know why. The stock driver in 29s should be the 2sc1957. no matter what.

The 2030 is only out there for the replacement of the 1969. the 2030 is no better, just will be availible for the next good while.

As for RMS. That really is the important figure. PEP just makes you smile.

Think of it as average distance or peak distance.

If oyu have some crappy driver like a 1046 or something 1036 ect.

Put a real driver in there. I didn;t realize cobras were starting to suck this bad out of the box. The 29 is one of the worlds greatest splatter boxes ever made.
