realistic trc 449

I have a realistic trc 449, pcb# pc 176bd, with a 858pll.
no transmit on am & ssb.
it receives on upper & lower ssb, but not on am.
No in coming signal on the meter on am.
it has in coming signal on ssb.
I hear the relay working.
no output movement on the meter when i key the mic.

a brown wire with a red & white wire with sheild came off. i was trying to put on a wattage control were the r f gain was. and it shorted out . i need to know were to put the wires back. please help!!! galaxy

hello,most likely you are missing one or more of your branch voltage at the p.s.b..check tr-41.first check voltages at tr-41,and let me know your findings.more than likely youll find tr-41 either o/s.but give me your voltage readings at tr-41,and then we will proceed from there.tr-41 is a 2sc 945aq.emitter should be 8.16 in am and 0 in ssb.base should be 8.71 in am.and collector should be 9.31 v.d.c.

on am i'm not getting 8.16 im getting 2. on ssb looks good im getting 8.+ on the collector on am its low, but on ssb it looks good. (i for got this) on ssd everyone sounds like donald duck... thanks galaxy

hi,i think you should replace tr-41,try that and see if normal operation returns.

sounds good on ssb, i heard myself on another radio. still no receive on am. and no output power .galaxy

Have you tried asking Rick? You would need to give a full description of what your fault is along with what you have tried to sort the fault out.
