Has anyone got any alignment/tuning info on the Superstar 158EDX ???

I believe it has the same board as one of the Ranger radio's but not sure which one?

Sadly, the one I've just bought is approx. 2KHz off frequency on FM/AM only - SSB is fine though.

Any assistance greatly appreciated.

PS. I don't have a scope or signal genny so I'd just be listening through another receiver & maybe using a frequency counter.

looks like the 690010d board.blow up the schematic and that is what it looks like to me

You have not told us where it is of frequency in RX or TX and which band (Hi or Low) or where it?s a TX off-set problem.

If it is of frequency in RX on the Low band then L20 but if it is of on the Hi band then L17. If it is of frequency in TX then it?s the TX offset which VR7 or if the same on RX/TX then L23. To do the job right you need a frequency counter and do a full re-alignment of the PLL section.

Rick - It's off frequency on the high band (27.415 - 27.855 MHz) & FM TX only?

I'll borrow a frequency counter & try the VR7 TX offset???:?

As far as the PLL re-alignment - that's way out of my depth but I'll let you know how I get on with VR7 at the weekend.

hello all,,,yes it is the new generation board,there using in the latest galaxys/r.c.i.s...but basically it is the same as the old ept 690010z boards found in the dx 2517/rci 2980/95t..ect...shouldnt be no prob..getting alignment info. on,,just need to know what mode its off on.......

OK - here's an update.

I got the lid off & it's a Ranger EPT690010D board as sonoma suggested.

Problem is I can't be sure that I've located VR7 correctly - it's right at the front of the board just behind the front panel next to some sort of jumper pins & I can't see the lettering on the board

It definately isn't anywhere else, therefore by the process of elimination.......
