Hi all,

http://www.cbtricks.com/radios/galaxy/d ... kc_mod.htm

Does anyone know if the SPDT switch is a ON/ON or ON/OFF/ON switch?

Thanks

UncleT

I would have to say "on, off, on"
switch up 10kc up
center off (normal freq)
switch down 10kc down.

but wait for a few replies as I could be wrong as I have not done 1 of these yet. But it sounds pretty right to me.

sorry, just went to the link you provided. Read the info just under the pic.
It says "spdt on-off-on switch"

I was right.

My diagram on CBTricks maybe easy to understand. Check this link.

frogman296,

no. every time I pass the electronics store I don't have my parts list :x
No hurry on my part anyway. I will get to it though. I'll add the results to this post when I do.

Thanks Rick, I'll reference it when I dig into the radio. I like the slide switch idea.

Hi Min,

Mater-o-fact I just picked up the parts today. I think I'm going to go back and get a flip switch instead of the slide switch. After playing with the slide switch I think it may be hard to find the center position while driving. Plus you only have to drill a whole for a flip versus cutting a square for a slide.

I probably will not touch the radio till after x-mas. I had time tonight but instead fixed my home stereo that got hit by lightening.

Have a good holiday.

Well I got the 10kc mod done.

It basically gives you 5 new frequencies to use.

26.955 (channel 4, switch down)
27.045 (channel 8, switch down)
27.095 (channel 12, switch down)
27.145 (channel 15, switch up)
27.195 (channel 20, switch down)

Cheers.

Thanks Rick for the additional schematic.

The 10KHz switch is only to give you the A channels 3A, 7A, 11A, 15A and 19A, and the channel switch giver you the rest. What was you expending to get?

Hi Rick!

Guess I was revising my post while you responded. I had a brain fart this morning after putting the radio back it the truck then reviewing the frequencies and found the ones the mod added. Thanks for your help.

Well see if this works. Attached is a photo that shows where I installed the switch (left side in front of mic connector).

can this mod be done in addition with the "2 switch" channel mod for the mb8719?? the switch on pin 10 and the switch between pin 11 and 12

reason i ask is... the 2 switch mod...doesn't give 27.4450...it does give 27.4550... ideally i want to have " channel 44 "

thanks in advance
