RCI2950DX Running very hot ouch.

Post by James Unit 198 »

I am having problems with a new RCI2950DX mosfet radio.
I have returned it to the dealer 3 times and still no better.
The problem is after 15 minutes of use on FM it gets very hot and cutout the right side is so hot that you can not touch it. it must be a fire hazard.
I think it is a very bad radio.
I have emailed Ranger 8 times and they have not replayed to one of my emails.

My advice is to stay well away from the new 2950DX its a pile of crap.

James.

I have heard about this problem, and I have also heard of why this is happening, along with a possible fix, the person that told me is on this forum, so once he sees your post I expect that he will be able to tell you about it.

To Scott I am sorry if this post is not inline with the forum, if not please remove it.

This is a problem I cannot give a straight answer too.
There are some known problems with the new 2950DX Mosfet (EPT695015Z) PCB.
I am only able to offer to repairs to the radio at this time.
It may look like I am looking for work, but this is the only way I can help out with this problem.
James phone me some time, and will see what I can do for you.
Rick.
