Voyage VR 9000 or OmegaForce S45 or Ranger SS-158EDX

I am looking to get back into cb.

The rigs that caught my eye are:
Voyage VR 9000 or OmegaForce S45 or Ranger SS-158EDX

The OmegaForce seems impressive but I think the display will be hard to see. The VR9000 looks good but I Love the Chrome of the SS-158

Is there anything I need to worry about with any of these rigs? Somewhere I read the ss158 has a drift problem, since I plan to operate a lot of SSB that worries me in selecting this rig.

Any input to help me decide?
thanks

Stay away from the S45 as you can get a bad one, I have sorted lots of them out, but it can be a costly job.

Most Ranger radios (VR 9000 and SS158EDX) have some frequency drift, but this is not a problem once the radio is up to working temperature. It can be sorted out by a good tech.

I have used the SS158EDX on and off for the past 16 months and found it to be ok, some complain about flat TX audio on the FM mode again this can be sorted by a good tech.

what radio

try a stryker 490. i have one and it is an excellent radio. mine dk's 47 watts and swings 132 watts on a dosy 4002 psw meter with 14.8 volts from my power supply. just a thought. good luck. oh yeah, the dk and output are variable.

I would go with the Superstar 158EDX, I have sold many of those and everyone seems to love them. People that have bought them have recommended them to friends. I personally think it is a very nice radio for the money.
