Are there any mods for this radio

hi there, its a 2824 chip or pll the only way you can mod this is changing plls or by using a expander board with crystals ,you can unlock the clarifier also but you need a swing kit, thanks hamguy2 nsw australia

The First Question is Do you have a display problum ?
I could not find a UPD 2816 for the channel convert.
I had 2- 640-e radios and dameged both tring too do the display thing.
O.k. VR-5 is Modulation,VR-10 is A.M.,VR-11 is S.S.B.,
Streach the coils Or Spread of L=26,L-34,L-35,L-36While reading,
On a meter First,Then adjust the VR- Pots ,Turn mic up all the way,
on the Knob ,then turn the Vr-5 too Max ,Then turn down the mic on the knob. Look up Defpom mods a Uniden pc 122 . Johhn 361 East Tex.
Do Not remove any TR-24or 26 Transisters...

You add a crystel switch too that radio it won't go out of band man.
The 2824 is a locked pll, any grounding will fry it.
But you can unlock the clarifier. Varactor diode. See dk mods..
