The forum only allows private messages to be initiated by people with a status of "technical helper" or higher, this was implemented to prevent spammers, and to also try and keep discussions within the forum, so everyone benefits from assistance, instead of just one person.

If you are trying to send a PM to someone with a suitable status level, I suggest you post a message requesting them to contact you, along with what it is about (briefly)
