Ham Concorde 3 - back to 11 meters

Post by Animal »

Hi All,

I've got a Ham Concorde 3 (PTBM133A4X board & PLL 02A) which has in a previous life been converted to work on 10 meters.

I've looked at the Xtals & X6 is missing (no holder either)

X5 = 21.252.5 (I'll change back to 20.330)

X4 = 21.027.5 (I'll change back to 20.105)

X3 = 20.802.5 (I'll change back to 19.880

I suppose X6 was 20.555 ???

Anyway, the question is do I need to disable the lock detector incase the VCO is outside it's limits or does this only apply when doing the mod the other way round, ie 11m to 10m ???

Any assistance (in laymans terms for a knuckle-dragging northerner) greatly appreciated.

Steve

Steve,
Just replace the crystals and adjust the VCO slightly.
20.555 is the super high crystal, I've got a bag full if you need any.

Dave.
How far is it.
Twice it's length from halfway.

Cheers Dave

Any idea where's best to source the others & what load capacitance to I specify - I tried Knights & Truck King & I think Tonks are no longer trading???

I'll have a Super Hi if I can get hold of the others.

Thanks again.
