Re: FM receive on 2830
Well, don't know what happend to the text so I'll try again.
I have a Uniden 2830, old model with 477 at the final.
It has two issues, one is, with the beep switched on the radio doesn't transmit but with it off it's working fine.
The other problem is with receive on FM it's been getting progressively worse over a period of time. It started with a noise like maybe an electrolytic capacitor going faulty and when it occurred it took the receive out. The noise would come and go of it's own accord but the signal is still there so I fitted two new capacitors at C95 and 97, didn't do anything to improve things.
I've changed the 3375 IC on the FM board, the 10.7 filter and the .455 filter all to no avail.
If I put the radio on AM whilst listening to people on FM I can understand what’s being said without the noise being there.
The receive on side band and AM are not affected by this problem.
