Radio Make and Model: Uniden Washington
PCB Number: PC 385AG
PLL Number:
Test gear available:
Symptoms: random scratchy audio in my receive.
What is working: Everything works
What has been tried:
Did it suddenly happen ?: Yes...
Anything else that may be of help?: Ok. Radio came to me with no audio. I took a mic tester and hooked a test probe to the audio input of the mic tester, and proceeded to poke around along the audio input circuit of the radio. did'nt take long to find a cold solder joint on the microphone connector ( audio input ) of the radio. Re-soldered, and fixed the audio problem. But since the repair, I have created another problem, or possibly just never noticed it until now. When the radio is in receive mode, it starts making a random scratchy noise through the speaker, ( sounds like a dirty pot noise ) I've spray cleaned all the pots and switches. I'm convinced the problem is deeper and much harder to discover. Please Help
