Cobra ekl power mod.

After doing the ekl 2030 power mod. on a cobra 29 wx nw st sound tracker board number kepc-258-f2 the carrier is 1 watt and swings only to 18 watts. Can some one tell me if it is OK to install a larger capacitor than a 68pf across c59 for a higher carrier and output or if this will cause problems? Thanks in advance for any replies.

you change the resistor to set your deadkey

I know if you do the modulation swing mod. to this radio you use different value resistors to set your carrier. This radio has not had this mod. installed. The only thing that has been done to this radio is the 2030 mod. and the modulation turned up because the final was cooked. Thanks for the reply.

you have to do the swing mod with the ekl mod...

make sure you do the swing mod AFTER the ekl mod
