The Defpom Forum, for RadioMods, S&M Software and Music by The Defpom

Hi all after about 10 years i decided to get the old cobra out and check if it still worked..it seems to be ok on FM but when i switch to SSB the audio output from the speacker is very low...and i have to put the volume control up past half way....and when i switch back to FM i have to turn the volume control back down or i would burs the speaker !
Has anyone got any suggestions ? thanks for any help i may or may not get...

p.s. the radio is a mk1 cobra 148 gtl dx (early version)

In SSB mode you do have to turn the volume contol up that's normal and I wouldn't worry about it but it may need a tune up on the side band receive coils, theres only two of them L17 and L18L if I remember right.
