This page describes how to modify the HR2510 bleep volume and duration
Chipswitch Owners !
These mods can cause erratic operation on a Chipswitched radio !
I do not recommend that you do these mods on a chipswitched radio, I recently tried and it caused the radio to lock up !
It is easy to increase the volume of the bleep, just locate R96, it is located just in front or underneath the wire loom that goes across the radio's main pcb, this is a 2.7 M Ohm resistor just replace it with a 1.5 M Ohm resistor, this should allow a big enough increase in volume, if not try a 1 M Ohm resistor.
DONT get carried away with this, as too much volume will make the bleep annoying, it should be a little quieter then you voice.
Duration increase
The length of the bleep can be increased by either changing or adding 1 capacitor !
Just find C110, it is located just in front or underneath the wire loom that goes across the radio's main pcb and either replace it with a 20 uf elect. cap. or add a 4.7 uf cap. across it.
The original cap. is a 10 uf.
If you add the 4.7 uf the bleep will be at about the correct duration, if you replace it with a 20 uf the bleep may be too long.
MAKE SURE THAT YOU GET THE POLARITY OF THE CAP CORRECT !!!
