Modifications

This radio uses a microcontroller and a serial controlled dual PLL IC to control the operating frequencies, from what I can find I was the first in the world to do a channel modification on one of these units.

This is a fairly easy modification to do once you know how the circuitry is designed, it is very similar to the older version of the radio.

There is another way this channel mod could be done, and that is by using a 2nd microcontroller to modify the serial data being sent to the PLL, the same way I did for the Cobra 29Ltd AM/FM variant, but the method of injecting a new frequency is a lot easier to implement.
