It does say FCC on the unit so it may be I was sold a Lemon. Obviously ops on another frequency than NZ CB. Will it be as simple as that. probably easier to get another unit than mess around with it.

Hi. Have installed this unit in my vehicle. I have a Dick Smith antenna mounted on a right angle bracket front gaurd. The aerial base is 50mm above the bonnet.The unit powers up ok and has squelch volume etc. I can hear hissing when other cb's are transmitting but no words and can't transmit succesf...
