Hi,
Could anyone walk me through a problem with a Superstar 3900 which is locked on mid-band.
Presumming there are no broken wires to the band selector knob what else can I check when I get the covers off?
Bearing in mind I'm a novice with this, please reply in terms a thick northerner like me would understand!
Many thanks in advance.

Hi Steve,
From one thick northerner to another, try pulling the SWR/CAL knob out, if that doesn't work, remove the speaker side (bottom) of the radio and you will see a switch on the left hand side, switch it on and that's it fully banded.
Give it a try.
Dave.

How far is it.
Twice it's length from halfway.

Dave - you truly are the (Northern) Daddy!!!=D>
Sorted - just as you suggested inside the radio.
If you're the Dave I think you are, I had a lend of a Jumbo Mk3 of yours a little while ago - super job by the way!
Thanks again - & not intentionally wanting to abuse your generous nature could you have a peek at my post about the Uniden 2830 (hopefully it's just as simple to fix)
