Can a Superstar 148 be rewired internally to use a Galaxy FC347 freq counter on it? The Superstar has the correct plug on the back but it does not display the correct freq....
Thanks in advance!
(I may have posted this before, but I couldn't find it!!!!)
Superstar 148
Hey Rick, I attached a pic of the foil side of the 148 and the freq counter. The connector at the back of the radio is attached at TP1 (On a cobra 148 anyways). Same place I hook up a PDC-256 when testing. The line has no resistor or cap, just directly connected....
The radio is on 27.1850 in the pic, but the freq meter shows 45.6802 as seen in the photo....
Thanks again for all your help!

Re: Superstar 148 to FC347
The problem you have is that the frequency at TP1 is in the range of 34 to 35 MHz, and the FC347 is designed to works with a frequency range 15 to 18 MHz.
Rick.
Re: Superstar 148 to FC347
No as there is no where to pick up the 15 to 18 MHz. your radio works like so, the VCO is running at 34 MHz which is sent to the TX and RX mixer at the TX mixer it has a 7.8 MHz carrier osc injected, so for channel 1 you have 34.765 - 7.8 which gives you 26.965 MHz.
It must use a special counter.
