Expo kit 139xlr

Post by captian_radio »

I was given an expo kit complete with crystals by a friend of mine for doing some work on his radio,I was wondering if the kit would work in a Cobra 139xlr, crystal freqs. are 11.1758 and 11.4758,anyone know approximatively
what freqs. I could expect to find if I installed it ?

A foot note to my post, I must have been asleep at the wheel when I asked what freq,s I could get, when I have a Ft920 that I use as a freq. reference lol. What my question should have been what crystal freq. do I need to use on the expo kit to have it start at 27.415 and go to 27.855 and also 26.955 and go down to 26.515? The pll is modded somewhat now but I would just like to use the expo kit as an experiment to see how well it will work.Any ideas would be great

I don't know about the expo kit's but if you add 0.45 to the ctystal frequency number that is in the radio now you will go up by one band, or take 0.45 from the crystals number you go down one band.
I take it your radio as standard is on 26.965 to 27.405, by adding 0.45 it would go to 27.415 to 27.855, up by one band.

Dave.
How far is it.
Twice it's length from halfway.
