lost memory in 2950 second generation

:? i have a second generation 2950 all the functions work manually but when i turn it off i loose the memory this model doesn't have a battery like the earlier ones the radio works great just this glicth
is there a cap that acts like a battery i need to change and which one is it
rci says its the cpu and sent it to them if it was cpu it wouldn't work at all i figure :?

There is a 1024-Bits serial electrically erasable PROM which saves the setting, its ref no 93LC46, check that the PROM has a clock no Pin 4 and the CS pin 3 go hi to enable the PROM, I have not had this chip fail but there is always the first time. My diagram on CBTricks may also help.
