Cobra 25 blowing speakers

the radio will cook any external speaker that is plugged into it....

any help??? i have no idea what is going on

there is no internal speaker, because of an echo board install..

the radio has talkback..could it have something to do with the size of the resistor

Check for a shorted electrolytic capacitor close to the audio chip.
Had the same problem with a Uniden radio.
