High pitch whinning noise on usb Cobra 2000 gtl

I've owned this radio for years now and it has been in the box for half the time. Last week I took it out and put it in line, everything seemed fine until I went to usb the I had real bad high pitched whinning noise that is not channel specific, it happens on all of them. Thanks, Dirk
