Hi all,
Can any one help with getting my old Concorde II back in order?
The RX is fine on all channels
The problem is the TX on FM/AM.
USB/LSB Seem o.k
I have it connected up to a SWR meter and ariel.
On FM when TX the SWR meter not move at ALL
On AM the SWR meter move a small amount when whistling into mike
On SB Whistling into mike SWR meter rockets off the scale.
Now I have a handheld scanner and when set to the correct channel on
FM and AM I can hear myself at short range.
Anyone any ideas about my problem, any help much appreciated. Would
really like to get this rig 100% again.
Thanks
Tony

Re: Concorde 2 no TX power.
I do not think it is Q36 as it is only used in AM mode.
I think you need to check if there is 13.8 vdc at the collector of Q9 and Q10 in FM TX mode.
If the volts are missing at Q10, check choke L11 that is known to burn up or as Timrim says, it could be a bad final but I would test it first, as there are other faults, which can cause you to have low TX power.

Please use the Post Subject.
Check the voltage at each side of L11 in FM TX mode, if no volts check the mode switch as you may find a broken wire or a bad mode switch.
Good luck lots of wires around the mode switch.

I have checked and no volts either side of L11 in FM TX mode.
The wiring at the mode switch looks in place, so maybe a faulty mode switch?
Next question... where will I find one of those??
Thanks again for all the help
Tony
